Google Voice provides a great voicemail interface so that you can access all your messages from anywhere. This tutorial will walk you through setting up an account.
You will need your cell phone for the enrollment process. This will not result in your getting work calls to your cell phone unless you so choose.
Create a Google Voice account
Sign in to your LREI Google Apps account, and then go to voice.google.com.
Setting up your Google Voice number
Choose Get Google Voice.
From the dropdown menu, select Web
Choose a google voice number. Feel free to choose any number in the continental US. This number is a "placeholder" number used mostly by our phone system. (Feel free to give this number to people from whom you'd like to only receive voicemail...)
Once you've chosen your new number,
click Select.
On the following page, select Next
Enter your phone number, you will receive a text message with a pin.
Verify your phone by entering the pin number.
Congratulations! Your Google Voice number is all set up.
Send an e-mail to help@lrei.org with your new number so that we can incorporate your phone number in our phone system.
